Chris Turns

Born and bred Salcombe, Chris has got the sea water in his blood. He has built up his own marine service business, and is now excited about part-owning Whitestrand. Power boat instructor and crew for Salcombe lifeboat, so if you hear a high-pitched noise and Chris runs away from you, he's probably just going on a shout so don't get offended!

Favourite hire boat - Stan, the Jeanneau Cap named after Chris's father who taught him everything he knows about boating.

Anne McArthur

The McArthur family have been visiting Salcombe for as many weeks of the year as possible over the past 12 years. It's a big family of four kids and 2 new labrador puppies!

Favourite hire boat - Charlie, Tom, Hannah and Will after the kids. Oh and Ruby and Rosie which are the puppies names.

Jerry McArthur

Jerry's passion is boats with engines. The ultimate is the Salcombe racing powerboat which he races around the country in the Honda Powerboat series. The boat came 2nd last year, and he's hoping to beat that this year. One of Jerry's favourite tricks is leaving the bung out before launching a boat!

Favourite hire boat - The rib which will be blasting out of the estuary at speeds much faster than 8 knots - great fun for adrenaline junkies!

Charlie McArthur

Charlie has been driving boats since the year dot, and is in her element when she is working at Whitestrand getting all the boats ready for the next hire, and moving them off the moorings before the tide dries out!

Favourite hire boat - Rosie, the Eurosport Dory, namesake of the new labrador puppy and her favourite boat to drive.

Anna Turns

Anna only came to Devon for a 6 month job and that was over four years ago. Since settling in Kingsbridge, she has had a slight career change from wildlife television researcher to running the shop at Whitestrand. She has a Salcombe Harbour Boatman's licence. Every trip on the water is different and there is always something different going on. Salcombe is a haven for wildlife and nothing beats messing about on boats.

Favourite hire boat - Daisy, one of the lovely new Jeanneau Caps. We named this boat after our bouncy chocolate Labrador puppy who loves the Salcombe beaches and is learning to swim.
